A White Colorado Christmas
We spent this Christmas at Linde's folks' cabin above Cimarron, CO. We got about a foot and a half of snow while we were there, adding to the four feet already on the ground when we got there.
We had to find a way to keep Piper warm during the sub-zero temperature snowmobile ride from the car to the cabin. Luckily we found the very same outfit that little brother Randy wore in the movie A Christmas Story. Piper's response was similar to Randy's: lay there like a slug.
A cold but happy family.
Grandma D. insisted we get one with the bear, so here you go.
We didn't have a sled, but it turns out that a Rubbermaid clothes basket is quite a bit more effective in the snow. We packed little Piper like expensive china in packing peanuts. And she loved it.
Piper got a Build-a-bear named Libby Lou from her Aunt Jess. It was a hit.
And she got socks. Which were also a hit.
Opening presents
Since we spent Christmas at the cabin this year, we opened presents a few days early. Piper enjoyed tearing up the wrapping paper.
Her ever-present baby doll.
Aunt Julie gave Piper a great new book, Olivia. Piper really likes it.
Finally being able to "touch" all those gifts under the tree was the best gift of all.
Hmmm...let me guess what's in this one.

Feels like Christmas in December
Piper was given a baby doll by her Nana for Christmas. And because neither Piper nor Nana much care about the timing of this gift, Piper got to open t this week. And she absolutely loves it. She gets giddy when we ask her about her baby, and then gives it hugs when she sees it. Pretty darn cute. Wish she hugged her parents like this!
